Sustainability Squared originated from a 2013 project called the Innovative Farmer.
The originators of The Innovative Farmer project and Sustainability Squared have worked with a wide range of leading global brands, retailers, and agencies working with global marketing and sustainability teams, transforming customer experiences, driving customer acquisition, retention, sales, and a Return on Investment from marketing budgets.
We have seen the evolution and significant increase in demand from clients and customers to understand a suppliers’ sustainability credentials.
As a result, Sustainability Squared can provide every client with a proposition to a relevant, broad, and highly competent team of sustainability and marketing specialists with the core focus of removing the complexities of your sustainability journey whilst providing unique marketing propositions where nature, marketing and sales are perfectly intertwined.
As a team, we’re passionate conservationists. When we began The Innovative Farmer, we wanted to create a project which has now become a business, that makes a difference across society whilst benefitting nature.
As we began our journey we recognised long before sustainability became a buzzword that there was an issue. 97% of all wildflower meadows have been destroyed, the UK is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world and homelessness is on a continuous rise. It could not and cannot continue in this way.
So, instead of sitting back, watching, and waiting for someone else to drive much needed change we decided to act and created The Innovative Farmer project which, over time has evolved to become Sustainability Squared.
The Innovative Farmer was the production, maintenance, and delivery of large biodiversity wildflower meadows which you can see in the video.
At the time, our focus was to protect pollinators which in turn support the wider eco-system on a large sustainable scale.
As we evolved, we recognised there was a wider service need, so The Innovative Farmer project became Sustainability Squared leveraging our corporate experience to combine sustainability with the commercial marketing world and providing two solutions.

We plan to invest a percentage of our profits from growing and developing the meadows into an employment program that reduces homelessness.
Our two-solution approach now enables brands and retailers to deliver the requirements of partners, clients, and big brands on their sustainability commitments by being able to provide metrics such as carbon footprint and net zero strategies whilst also being able to elevate and differentiate themselves via a nature first, sustainable marketing solution.
